EDIT: the second step wasn't working because i wanted the donator to know to who the money was going to exactly, so i had to wait for paypal to verify my 9xxssf email
...i have paypal registered under my yahoo email, which might have caused a bit of concern.

Hum, I imagine transaction services not liking public email services much, like Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.
About the "thanking", maybe there could be a single thread pinned, one that would update according to donations.
